Now that RFC has finished with its second large event of the fencing year, the Brick ROC (with many thanks to co-host RIT Fencing Club!), the next question on many people’s minds is “Do I qualify to go to Summer Nationals?”
Summer Nationals this year are being held in Salt Lake City from July 1 to July 10, 2017. Every age and skill category from Y10 to Vet and Div I to Div III is contested there. It’s a huge event — the world’s largest fencing tournament! It can be a fun family experience to combine it with a rocky mountain summer vacation.
There’s a new USA Fencing membership site, so the process for checking on your regional qualification points has changed. In this article, I’ll go through the regional point-based qualification paths for all youth categories based on RYC and RJCC results, and the DIV IA, DIV II, and DIV III qualification paths based on ROC results. At the bottom of this article is a guide to checking on regional points on the new USA Fencing site.
